Update May 1, 2009
Our car was turned down at New Paris. So we have chosen Mottville Speedway as our home track. Luke is second in points and has won his first ever heat race. Its a small quarter mile flat track but very nice. We have made many nice friends and really enjoy the track.
Update: April 12, 2009
Last night was our first race of the season. We traveled to Mottville, Michigan to Mottville Speedway. They raced two classes: mini stocks and go karts. There were only 10 cars but we had a blast. Luke got fifth in both heats and the feature. We thought that was pretty good in a brand new car on a brand new track. There tech guy checked the car top to bottom and told the owner of the track the only thing not stock is the body. The owner said that it was okay to race. Everybody in the pits loved the car. Talked to alot of our friends from New Paris. Next week is open house at New Paris and we will be there to let their tech make a ruling on our car. We will cross our fingers and hope for the best.

Some information on Luke
Last year was 14 year old Luke's rookie season driving a Ford Ranger mini stock. About midway through the season dad decided it was too much to try to mess with the handling of the truck so we sold the truck and bought a mustang that we named "Bugly". Bugly stands for "BUTT UGLY" and it was before we started putting it back together. It took us only a full week of nothing but car work to get it on the track. Luke raced the mustang and received 2 second place finishes throughout the season. At the end of the season, Luke placed 10th overall and received a plaque at the banquet. The banquet was a blast with all the racers who attended. The 2008 season was a memory maker....lets see what 2009 has in store for the Thomas Family!
